Karla Black
Born in Scotland in 1972, Karla Black lives and works in Glasgow. She obtained her BA in sculpture and her Masters degree in Fine Art from the Glasgow School of Art. Her recent solo exhibitions is at West London Projects, London; Galerie Gisela Capitain, Cologne. Black participated such group exhibitions as one at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the Brussels Biennial, "Art Now" at Tate Britain, Wollust-the presence of absence (all 2008), Columbus Art Foundation, and "Poor Thing" at the Kunsthalle Basel (2007). Forthcoming projects include solo exhibitions at Migros Museum, Zurich; Modern Art Oxford and Inverleith House, Edinburgh and group shows at Kunstverein Freiburg and Kunsthalle Andratz (all 2009).
Aaron Curry
Born in San Antonio, TX in 1972. Curry obtained BFA, School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002 and MFA, Art Center College of Design, Pasadena in 2005. In 2007 he exhibited new sculptures in Michael Werner Gallery London, and in 2008 he collaborated with Thomas Houseago on Black Swan, an exhibition of contemporary and historic sculpture, also in London. Aaron Curry’s recent exhibitions include Untitled (for H. C. Westermann), The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu; Red Eye: L.A. Artists from the Rubell Family Collection, Rubell Collection, Miami; Unmonumental, New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; and Hammer Projects, UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. Forthcoming exhibitions include Ballroom Marfa and GAMeC - Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bergamo.
Martin Creed
Creed was born in Wakefield, England in 1968, grew up in Glasgow and lives and works in London. He has exhibited extensively worldwide, and in 2001 won the Tate’s Turner Prize for ‘The lights going on and off’. His solo exhibitions in 2008 include ‘Duveens Commission’ at Tate Britain and a major survey exhibition of his work at Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, which travels to Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan, Artsonje Center, Seoul, Korea and Museo de Arte de Lima, Peru in 2009.
Bernard Frize
Bernard Frize was born in St Mandé, France in 1949 and lives and works in Paris. Frize's recent solo exhibitions are one at Patrick Painter Inc, California in 2007, Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Ikon Gallery, Birmingham (UK) both in 2003. He has participated in the following exhibitions recently: National Museum of Osaka (Japan) in 2006, and Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen (Germany) in 2010. His works are acquired by many institutions including Tate Gallery and MUHKA.
Mary Heilmann
Mary Heilmann (born 1940) lives and works in New York. She has had solo exhibitions at 303 Gallery (New York, 2009), Zwirner & Wirth (New York, 2008), the Secession in Vienna (2003), at the Camden Arts Centre in London (2001) and in the Kunstmuseum in St. Gallen (2000). She has also participated in major exhibitions such as ‘Der zerbrochene Spiegel’ at the Vienna Kunsthalle (1993-94) and ‘nuevas abstracciones’ at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid (1996). In 2007, Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach (CA) held her travelling exhibition to Houston (TX), Columbus (OH) and the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York.
Charline von Heyl
Charline von Heyl was born in Mainz, Germany and lives and works in New York. Her work has been exhibited both in the United States and abroad, including solo exhibitions at Le Consortium (Dijon) and Capitain Petzel (Berlin) in 2009, the Dallas Museum of Art in 2005 and Vienna Secession in 2004. Her works were shown at "Painting Now and Forever, Part II" at Matthew Marks Gallery and Greene Naftali Gallery, New York in 2008. She and Mary Heilmann participated "Oranges and Sardines" exhibition at UCLA Hammer Museum in 2008. Von Heyl's works are in the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Orie Ichihashi
Born in 1978 in Tokyo, and graduated Musashino Art Unversity in 1996. After experienced as assistant photographer, Ichihashi started as a freelance photographer in 2001. She worked for advertisement and book design. Ichihashi is the cinematographer of Japanese film "Honokaa boy (2009)". In the same year, she released her first monograph "Gift".
Paul Sharits
Paul Sharits (1943-1993) is known for his structural films. Sharits pioneered the use of multiple projectors, infinite film loops, experimental soundtracks. Sharits was widely acknowledged during his lifetime, with shows at the Bykert Gallery, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and Walker Art Center among other institutions, and has been posthumously exhibited at the Whitney Museum, MoMA, and Birchfield-Penney Art Center in Buffalo, New York.
Miyuki Tsugami
Born in Tokyo in 1973, grew up in Osaka. After she obtained B.F.A. in 1995, M.F.A. in 1998 at Kyoto University of Art and Design, Tsugami won the7th Sekiguchi Art Foundation Award for study program in New York in 1996. In 2005, she also won ARKO, artist in residence program in Kurashiki , Ohara by Ohara Museum of Art. In 2009, Tsugami was selected for "Artist File 2009", The Annual Show of Contemporary Art exhibition by The National Art Center, Tokyo.
Jun Tsunoda
Born Aichi, Japan in 1960. Graduated from Tama Art University. He has actively produced art works while having established his career as one of the most notable graphic designer in Japan. His commissioned work includes Richard Prince "4x4" in 1997. In 2009, Tsunoda held solo exhibition "Sounding through" at FOIL GALLERY (Tokyo), and released his first monograph "Cave" (FOIL).
Otto Zitko
Born in 1959 in Linz, Austria and lives in Vienna, Austria. Zitko has had solo exhibition at Cheim & Reade (2000) in New York as well as Salzburger Kunstverein -Ringgalerie, Germany, Espacio Marte, Mexico City, Galerie Krobath Wimmer, Vienna, arte-ria, Locarno, Switzerland (all 2008) and Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig in 2007. He participated such group exhibition as Gallery Hyundai Company in Beijing and Seoul, Kunstforum Wien, and Kunsthalle Bern in 2008, Museum for Modern and Contemporary Art, Bolzano, Italy in 2007 and Austrian Cultural Forum, New York and Center for visual arts Rotterdam in 2006.
